Scott,
some good processes have clearly been put in place here and it is evident that a good standard of pre-production has taken place. Your video was clearly recognisable from the planning put forward despite some minor changes taking place during filming.
Your pre-production paperwork does have some issues which could be improved and this should be considered for future projects.
The discussion (essay) on the pre-production process is a good piece of writing which outlines the requirements and sources of requirements for a media production. Try to ensure that for future written work, sections are clearly labelled and heading are used.
Some good work here on which you can build on.
Carl.

Conclusion
We created a short film production and it was for Depict which is a competition which challenges film creators from around the world to make a short film in 90 seconds. There are many different types of media products ranging from every day magazines and posters you see outside in the world to video games and the music you listen to and many more all these different media’s need to be distributed for people to see them, this can be done in many ways like entering a major international festival such as Cannes, Berlin, Sundance and Toronto. Moving image media like short movies and videos can be distributed through YouTube, Netflix and many more which the easiest would be You Tube as anyone can upload anything they want.
Funding
There are a lot of funding sources from many places like BFI film fund which is the biggest public film fund in the UK, each year they have invest over £26m of lottery funds to support film development, production and distribution in the UK. Creative media provides money to people with creative ideas in games, TV, film and digital media industries. Self funding is another way of funding which a famous film was born from which is called Clerks made by Kevin Smith and launched his carer in the film business. They filmed at night so they could put the film in black and white which would save them more money.
Requirements
To create a moving image text you would have to spend money on the following: Actors, film crew, props, location and buy or rent the camera and other bits of gear if needed. To make our own short moving image text we borrowed a camera and a camera stand from the college and used the people in the class and the crew as actors and filmed in and around the college, we used the pupils own phones as the props you see in the short film.
A low budget short wouldn’t have a lot of crew members as it is low budget so you would only need a producer, director, writer, cinematographer and that is about it as you won’t have that much on your hands as it is a low budget short.
For a television crew you would need casting which are casting directors, background casting and casting advisors, composers, directors with an assistant director, electrical department which includes a camera supervisor, crane grips, and lighting directors. Riggers and Steadicam operators. Post production which is editors, dubbing mixers, post production supervisors and continuity editors also there is the production team which includes executive producer, senior producer, associate producer, line producer, series producer, series story producer, script producer, story editors, senior script editor and script editor. The production design team is small with only a senior designer, designer and art director.
The main roles for a Hollywood feature film you would need is a producer, head of department which will take care of all the people working on your production, line producer to ensure that the product finishes on time and doesn’t go over the budget, director of photography in charge of how the scenes are lit and shot, production designer in charge of the production design and helps create the style of the set, gaffer in charge of lighting technician, 1st assistant director who runs the set according to the director an editor who cuts the film together, production manager which organised everything and everyone on set and the sound recordist who is in charge of everything to do with recording.
In our group of three we just made one person the cameraman which was me as I know how to us the camera, another as the main character which was Josh in the short film so we didn’t have to keep on borrowing someone from another group and we got Tom the third guy to help shoot the shoots and do a bit of camera work. When we got to editing the finale clips we all took turns to edit. In pre-production we all done different things like I done all the storyboards Josh done risk assessment and location recce and Tom done shot list. Other people that contribute to the production but aren’t normally mentioned are like background actors which we had by getting people from the class to stand in the background.
The time frame we were set was two weeks pre-production, two weeks filming and two weeks to edit. We basically used all the time we were given and made a diary of when and what we were going to film on each day. When you don’t meet a deadline in the professional media industry it can get pretty series as you could lose your job, not having work ready to hand in effects other people and can give a domino effect making other people late as well. In class we met ever deadline set every 2 weeks.
You can find a lot of website that let you hire professional equipment like a website called decode which lets you hire lots of different equipment ranging from camera and lighting to grips and lenses, you can also hire a crew to help you make your film like camera operator or a director they also do aerial shots with a drone. It doesn’t tell you a precise number of the cost but you can get a deal where it costs £500 and you get a lot of their equipment. You can get the equipment from their base in London. The equipment that was available from the college was a camera, tripod and that was all we used and need and I don’t know what else that was available from them.
We filmed in and around the college so we didn’t have to go and secure a location legally but we did have to get the college to sign. A location recce is when you scout out an area where you think you might film in the area, location release is needed if you film on another person’s property as they can sue you if you didn’t get them to sign a location release. We chose the college as we didn’t have to move that much equipment as we were always in the college.
Some legal considerations might be the songs you use can have copyright on them so all we done was search for loyalty free music on google and it was pretty easy to find music that fits the video. You can get copyright protection instantly when you create a film or television recording. You can protect your work from other countries through international agreements, copyright lasts for 50 years but 25 for photographs, and this can be different for other types of work. Copyright didn’t really effect out work.
Public liability insurance protects you if clients or members of the public suffer personal injuries or property damage due to your business, it covers the costs subsequent legal expenses. Completion guarantee is a form of insurance offered by a company which is often used in independently financed films to guarantee that the producer will complete and deliver the film.
A regulator body is a public authority or government agency responsible for exercising autonomous authority over some area of human activity in a regulatory or supervisory. A trade union is an organisation made up of members (a membership-based organisation) and its membership must be made up mainly of workers. One of a trade union's main aims is to protect and advance the interests of its members in the workplace. Most trade unions are independent of any employer. Initial Ideas Post
Me, Scott and Tom have decided we wish to create a DepicT! project based around social media and the way that the world now wastes so much time on them and no longer experiences real life how it was meant to be. We decided we would incorporate many different spectacles such as just everyday life walking down a road, to being missed out by friends and even extreme cases of alley way crimes. We think this film should have a serious but light-hearted tone with using as realistic dialogue as possible. The only props we should need are phones and we should only require around 4-6 individuals to be part of our talent crew. We do not want to target a specific type of media and so we will not show at any point the social media being used, we want this to be a universally recognizable piece of work that anyone could relate too. This will be filmed on the college grounds as this is the most stereotypical age group that is associated with social networks, this means that we can orientate the spectator easier into the atmosphere we want the film to follow in.

Props and Costume
Prop and Costume list
For our costumes we used every day normal average clothes
that any college pupil would wear such as I wore jeans and a jumper with shoes
as did many other people in the production. We did not require any set costumes
so could wear whatever we wanted each day. The only props we needed were smart
phones to emphasize the point we were trying to get across to our audience.
